Description

A tribute to Jean Phelps Veloz, an icon of the Lindy Hop Hollywood Style and a living bridge between the swing world of Los Angeles of the ’40s and present days.

In 1940, when United States were preparing for World War II, swing music and dance became the driving passion of most teenagers all across the country. Jean and her brother Ray stood out from the very get-go of their career, winning first place at the Jitterbug World Contest in Santa Maria, competing against 500 dancers. Since that victory the couple continued collecting successes year after year: Jean featured in numerous films and had a long collaboration with Dean Collins, a leading figure in the Golden Years US dance scene.

In 1948 she became partner of Frank Veloz, first in dance and then in life. His death, in 1981, was what led Jean to leave the dance world for more than 10 years. She returned to the scenes in 1992 conviced by Rudy Linan, and she has not stopped traveling around the world ever since.

Foot measurements directions:

Foot length is more accurately measured when standing directly on a ruler or measuring tape.
Make sure you measure from the furthest back/central part of the heel to the end of the longest toe.

Foot width shall be measured by wrapping a measuring tape around the widest part of your foot, usually where your bunion joint is. Ensure you have your full weight on the foot for accuracy.

You may want to repeat the whole measuring process a few times to confirm your measuring results.
